As I said earlier shopping in delhi is really a weird experience. It's better for u if u know some local person in there because peole cheat a lot there. Also another good option is to go through a reliable tourist guide. Better if any of your friends recommend one. Another option is to read all the forums and blogs regarding the place you visit. The truth is not much web support is available for Indian country. Also remember not all the places are Wi-fi enabled. Be prepared for that. The internet cafe's outside also have very slow connection. Keep in mind.
Back to the shopping story, Always when you bargain ask for at least 3 times lesser price. Also handle the cash as far as possible in local currencies. Because spending in dollars makes you think that you spend less. Make your own calculation (1 INR = 47$ approx) Also don't buy branded items there. I bet it would be duplicate... I saw Levis, polo and puma T-Shirts for less than 3 dollars. Also there are few other places in Delhi where you buy things. You know what, For the first time I saw a 64 GB pen drive there. Be careful when you see such kind of things. But Delhi is surely a great place to buy crafts and hand made things They are really very cheap.
