The marketing is really a vast field to understand. When there are some sensational events happening in the society, the advertisers make use of them. When there are some turmoils happening, the companies make use of those jitters too. Example, When war breaks out, the products are promoted based on them like how they would be useful to people during a war. As I said earlier, the media is a powerful field. They can make even the sensitive issue dispel in seconds. The advertisements and marketing has also got the same kind of power. It's like a sharp Knife, it could be used for a good purpose or it could be used to be used for catastrophic events. Those media people, can together even conspire to do unwanted events. These people won't even respite to create a lag in their field. People must fine tune their mind to be in frequency with the advertisers to understand the real benefits of offers and real meanings of ads. Another issue in advertising field is the lack of devolution. So people should not believe the illusion created by the big names/brands. But there is also an advantage in trusting big names. They won't renege on what they said, they will always stick to a plan. And so they easily create an influx to their brand names.
